  •   Enablement Support Worker

    Hours:
    25 hours per week 

    Salary Grade:

    £10.05 hour with an additional 10% payment for unsocial banding

    Job Purpose:

    This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing enablement  service supporting individuals whilst promoting their independence, and helping to restore/maintain their ability to remain within the community. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills, be able to prioritise your workload and work well within a team. You will share our values and have a passion for providing the highest quality care and support, respecting individual’s dignity, choice and preferences. You will need to hold a full driving licence for this role and have access to a vehicle.

    Key Responsibilities:

    To assist with the monitoring, implementation and evaluation of care plans and enablement programmes

    To complete written records as required with the customer, carer and family following discussions regarding agreed goal planning.  

    To provide flexible, personal and practical support (inclusive of personal care needs) which is respectful of customer’s privacy and dignity and in line with their assessed need.

    Maintain accurate records, contribute to reviews/assessments and team meetings and liaise with other agencies and professionals such as social workers, nurses and therapists when required.

    Ensure the appropriate use, maintenance and storage of equipment supplied for the customer’s reablement programme.  As part of the monitoring process alert a senior staff member if change of equipment or equipment repair is required.

    This is an exciting opportunity to join our residential enablement service to take a lead role in providing a range of personal, social, emotional and practical care tasks for the wellbeing of service users and their carers.     • To ensure quality of service to service users, by offering support and guidance to colleagues and other professionals through liaising with service users, their carers,  Health and Social care staff, Voluntary and other agencies

  •   Community Support Workers

    We are looking for enthusiastic and skilful individuals with bags of energy to join our successful and growing Supported Living Service. You will have a passion and desire for providing the highest quality standards of care and be willing to continuously build on your skills and experiences. To provide a supportive and enabling environment for vulnerable people with enduring mental health problems, challenging behaviour, Autism, ABI (Acquired Brain Injury), learning Disabilities, in a rehabilitation setting and individual tenancies in accordance with company policies and robust professional standards. Miocare Services support can involve complex health related procedures and interventions which support the health and wellbeing of an individual and may in some cases require support workers to have additional competencies outside of the standard skills gained from normal training, induction and experience. 

    Examples of complex health care may include: administration of specific medications, emergency seizure management and the use of alternative delivery systems for nutrition with procedures or interventions which may be invasive (i.e. PEG feeding, intra-nasal, etc) In addition you will be supporting individuals who may display or at risk of displaying behaviours which challenge such as aggression, self-harm, and disruptiveness and you will be expected to utilise person centred techniques such as Positive behaviour support (PBS) when dealing with these situations.

    Job description:

    To provide support to people with toileting, washing, dressing, eating, personal hygiene, mobility according to their need. To be supported to / administer medication as directed by GP or consultant, to ensure safe storage and keep accurate records in line with the medication policy and in accordance with agreed care plans, and liaise with the appropriate medical professionals as necessary. To assist and encourage individual development with regard to domestic and social and recreational skills. In order to achieve set goals and to have involvement in the Person Centred Planning. To maintain records of patterns of care and observations. To work a range of shifts on a 24/7 basis including evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays as required in accordance with service user needs and to undertake these as required.  To play an active role in maintaining and promoting the scheme, acting as an ambassador and role model at every opportunity

  •   Care Worker - Extra Care Housing

    Hours:

    Job Purpose:
    Care Workers are employed to work with clients to provide care and support as detailed specifically in the service user plan provided for each client. All clients are individuals who will have received a person-centred holistic assessment of their needs which forms the basis of their service user  plan. The role of the home care worker is to meet their clients’ needs and to ensure they are supported as detailed in their service user plan ensuring at all times that their privacy, dignity and independence are maintained. This will include not only assisting with the client’s personal care needs but also their social welfare. The role may include prompting or administering medication, shopping, cooking and will include light housekeeping duties. Care workers must work as directed by the Manager and detailed in the individual service user plan

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. To ensure that all duties directed by the Registered Manager and detailed in the service user  Plan are carried out in full, providing high quality personal care to the client.
    2. To inform the Manager immediately in regards to any emergency situations, or if the client experiences a noticeable change in their behaviour or care needs
    3. Proactively support GP’s, nurses, physiotherapists and any other professionals involved in the care and wellbeing of the client.
