Supported Living

Our Supported Living service offers care and support for people with a learning and/or physical disability and enduring mental health problems.

Our multiple on-site staff teams provide 24-hour support in a variety of locations across Oldham, with an offer of bespoke packages to people either in a small, shared home or a larger scheme where residents live within self-contained accommodation.

All Supported Living residents have their own tenancy and receive an individual package of care based on their assessed needs, interests and aspirations. We work with individuals in a person-centred way, ensuring and enabling them to maintain a safe and healthy lifestyle.

Our service is regulated by the Care Quality Commission and was last rated as ‘Good’ in all areas. Read the CQC’s full report via their website, here:

Extra Care

Working alongside Housing 21 and Oldham Council, we provide a 24-hour care service to older people living in Oldham’s six Extra Care schemes:

  • Aster House (Oldham, opposite Royal Oldham Hospital)
  • Charles Morris House (Failsworth)
  • Hopwood Court (Shaw)
  • Old Mill House (Grotton)
  • Tandle View Court (Royton)
  • Trinity House (Coldhurst)
Extra Care housing is designed with the needs of older people in mind. Residents living in the six aforementioned schemes have their own self-contained homes and access to on-site personal care, delivered by MioCare Services staff.

Our service is regulated by the Care Quality Commission and was last rated as ‘Good’ in all areas. Read the CQC’s full report via their website, here:

Shared Lives Oldham

Through its network of Shared Lives Carers, the Shared Lives Oldham scheme supports and enables people to live a happy and fulfilling family life. Right here in the town they know and love.

We have recruited, trained and approved this growing network of carers who offer a wide range of care and support to vulnerable adults, young people in transition from children’s services / foster care, older people and people who have learning disabilities, physical disabilities and mental health issues.

The carers give different levels of support, depending on the needs of the people they’re matched with. Some just give a few hours a week and might help someone who’s already fairly independent to attend a weekly activity, appointment or event. Others open up their home and share their life with those they’ve chosen to support.

A big responsibility but with incredible outcomes for everyone involved. Click HERE to read more about Jean and Katie’s match. The Shared Lives Oldham staff team are on hand 24 hours a day, 7 days a week throughout the year to support this network of incredibly special people.

We feel part of a bigger team who are helping adults who need our support. It is incredibly rewarding and I’d recommend it to anyone who can offer their time and home.
