“...walking in a winter wonderland!"

On Monday 17th December it was party time in Failsworth!

Such a great get together as service users and staff from Grassroots & Chadderton Hall Park wellbeing sites and MILES@Ena joined forces for a festive sing-song.

There’s a great atmosphere around these services and in the rooms that host them. A sense of community and thankfully, wellbeing. A service that does what it says on the tin…

MILES@Ena, the venue in the video above, is a great facility that’s open 4 days per week – Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (excluding Bank Holidays) - offering both full and half day sessions. Full day sessions run from 9am – 4pm with half day sessions starting at 12 noon. Costs are available on request. See below for how to contact us.

We provide a range of social activities and learning opportunities in a warm and friendly environment for people who are 18 years and older who have physical, sensory and/or learning disabilities. We have a highly trained and experienced staff team on hand to help support every guest to get the most from the range of activities on offer. We want our guests to have a special and enjoyable experience when using our service and we will work with each individual to develop an activity plan tailored to their personal needs.

If you would like to know more about the MILES@Ena Day Support Service please do get in touch.

Similarly, our Wellbeing Service (with two sites - Grassroots in Failsworth and another at Chadderton Hall Park) provides an alternative to traditional day care for people with a learning disability.

The focus is on providing people with opportunities to maintain and develop skills and gain the confidence needed to get the most out of life and be as independent as possible.

This is achieved by offering a range of indoor and outdoor activities in a safe, stimulating and welcoming environment.

Activities include:

  • planting and growing organic vegetables
  • beekeeping
  • learning basic cooking skills
  • learning basic gardening skills
  • flower arranging
  • woodwork sessions

People are encouraged to take control, make choices and pursue activities that they are interested in. All activities are risk assessed and supported by experienced and trained staff.

If you’re a social worker or family member of someone you think would benefit from these services, or if you would simply like to know more then please get in touch.

Email info@miocare.co.uk or call 0161 770 8777. We look forward to hearing from you (and Merry Christmas from everyone at the MioCare Group!).
