Sometimes it snows in April, but spring is most definitely here!
If you’re one of the Group’s followers on social media, you’ll have hopefully been encouraged to see plenty happening since the start of the month. Here’s a little rundown…
ACTION...
Have you heard of the Action for Happiness charity?
They describe themselves as “A movement of people committed to building a happier and more caring society. We want to see a fundamentally different way of life - where people care less about what they can get just for themselves and more about the happiness of others.”
The charity creates a ‘Happiness Calendar’ each month, packed with actions you can take individually, to help create a happier and kinder world. We’ve been sharing these calendars with our online MioCare Group family…

AWARENESS...
We were keen to mark World Autism Awareness Week 2021, and did so by sharing some brilliant work happening in our Supported Living service.
Let Clare (a Senior Community Support Worker in the service) introduce you to John…

ACTIVITY...
Did you have a good Easter Bank Holiday weekend? Supported Living residents at Holly Bank certainly did and celebrated by singing, dancing, card-making and strolling their way into the season.
An active bunch over there - great to see! It's also great to see new housemates being welcomed into the gang by staff and residents alike...
And Oldham's very much leading the way when it comes to springtime fashion! Check out the brilliant bonnets and bunny ear decorations below, made and modelled by Paula, David and other residents from both the Mill View and Schofield Street Supported Living houses!
The prizes won for their efforts were very much deserved...
And as you can see, due to the great weather the Mill View Easter egg hunt was an outdoor activity this year. Great to be out enjoying the fresh air.
Community Support Worker Michelle said...
"At their last meeting, residents requested that we really celebrate, so we planned some activities together both for indoors and outdoors - including the decorating of the lounge and bedroom windows, an Easter bonnet competition and the egg hunt too!"
So there you have it. A great start to the spring here in Oldham and we’re hoping for plenty more sunshine in the coming weeks and months. Thanks for reading.
