As we celebrated our MioCare Staff Awards last year, we held a charity raffle as part of the event with the chosen beneficiaries being Oldham Foodbank and Oldham Cancer Support.

A huge thank you to the businesses that gave us prizes and the generous colleagues that bought tickets and raised nearly £500 on the night.

We wanted to match that amount and donate a bit extra, so that both Oldham Foodbank and Oldham Cancer Support received £500 each. Recently, we presented representatives from each of those charities with a cheque and paid the money to them. We are incredibly grateful for the work they do across our borough, in what are invariably tough circumstances.

Pictured below are volunteers from Oldham Cancer Support alongside the MioCare Group’s Managing Director Karl Dean, who said the following…

"Our staff chose these charities because of the brilliant work they do for local people. At the MioCare Group we want to do our bit in these incredibly challenging times and we hope our contributions go a small way to help, as these charities continue to make a big difference."

As well as raising money via the charity raffle, MioCare staff have been collecting and donating items to Oldham Foodbank throughout the last year. This has happened in various service locations, including our HQ in Failsworth where Karen (a Care Coordinator in our Shared Lives Oldham team, pictured below with Karl and Oldham Foodbank volunteers) headed up the donation drive! A big thanks to her and to everyone across the Group who has given so generously throughout the last 12 months…

As we head into 2023, we will continue to support the communities we serve and we urge anyone who is struggling with the cost of living to seek the help that’s available.
