This time of year can be one for treats and time with friends and family – as people share company and Easter eggs too.
But not everyone has an easy time of it, as people face difficult situations with varying degrees of support. Hence why Steve, a long-time MioCare Group staff member and all-round good guy(!) puts so much effort into his community fundraising through March and April.
Last month, alongside his fellow volunteers at Chadderton Park Sports Club, he started approaching friends and colleagues, organisations and businesses to see if they could donate Easter eggs to be given to children and families in need across our borough (through Oldham Foodbank, the Royal Oldham Hospital, Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital and Oldham's soup kitchen and homeless shelter). A huge team effort.
Incredibly, over 908 Easter eggs were donated, including 70 by MioCare Group Supported Living Service colleagues (in return for a clean-shaven Steve - well done for doing the honours Ben!).
The eggs has now been given out to children through those organisations above. Well done to Steve and everyone involved - it’s good to share!
