"I love my job because I see positive changes in the people I support"
Today (Tuesday 19th March 2019) is World Social Work Day, with social workers worldwide standing together to celebrate the achievements of the profession and take the theme message into their communities, workplaces and to their governments. And in turn, raising awareness of their contributions and need for further action.
Locally, providers of social care across Oldham have been sharing their stories, with staff telling the world just why it is they love their job!
Our very own Steve, Tracy, Amanda, Lisa and Lindsay got in on the act. Have a look at the photos below to see just why it is they love their often tough but no doubt essential roles in care…
The theme for World Social Work Day this year is 'promoting the importance of human relationships' – something that sits well next to our own aim of 'supporting people to get the most out of life'.
Thanks to the social workers in the Oldham Cares alliance and beyond for all you do, today and every day. The dedication you show to those relationships held through your work is apparent and appreciated!
