Over at the Ena Hughes Resource Centre, our Failsworth HQ, we’ve recently restructured the car park making bays more clear and the whole area more safe. For both vehicles and people!
Well the work doesn’t stop there – there’s some green space around the Centre that’s currently underused and we’d like that to change. Especially as the building itself is now really busy, housing not only offices and meeting rooms but also our brilliant MILES@Ena Day Service supporting adults with learning difficulties, which includes within it the ‘Cloud 9’ Sensory Room used by a variety of our service users.
An initial team of four green-fingered chaps from our Wellbeing Service paid a visit to Failsworth today to suss out how we can make the best of the space. We’re thinking fences, flowers and benches at which to eat lunch this summer. And that’s just to start!
The picture below is of (L-R) Ray, John, Lee and Noel:
John: “It’s good to be out and about and in the sunshine. I like helping with anything in the garden.”
Ray: “It will take some planning as we’ve some obstacles to overcome but it will make for a nice place to sit and take a break once we’ve finished.”
John and Lee are both users of our Wellbeing Service and were keen to be involved alongside MioCare Group staff Ray and Noel. The four of them were bouncing a lot of ideas around this morning and we can’t wait to see some new space open up to those using the building in the near future.
