In our last blog post we wrote about how staff were undertaking training. Well, it’s not only staff who are getting in the know, it’s MioCare Group service users too! And in this case, Shared Lives service users and carers came along to our Failsworth HQ to learn about Fire Safety.
A big thanks to Leanne from the Chadderton branch of the Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Service who delivered the course. Questions were asked and answered and Darren, Tommy and co’ were proud to head home with their Certificate of Training.
It's important for service users to partake in this training themselves and it was a useful forum in which to learn new things as well as dispel any myths about fire safety. Sharing this vital information has meant that the homes Darren and Tommy share with their carers are more safe. And that is a very, very good thing.
Here’s to learning!
