Across Oldham, Greater Manchester and indeed the country people are paying their respects to those we've lost in conflict. This year seems especially poignant in that it marks 100 years since the end of the First World War. Whilst our thoughts are on those lives lost, we are also thinking about all those involved in conflict right now.

MioCare Group staff and service users at Laurel Bank Day Centre didn't want to let November pass without contributing in their own way and in doing so, raising some money for the Royal British Legion. Jenny, Michael and co' knitted poppies to wear proudly this weekend. They all did a great job too, we're sure you'll agree!

And more money was raised for the Legion by MILES@Ena Day Support Service users and staff, as they came together with friends and family for a coffee morning and cake sale.

Remembrance events are taking place across the borough this weekend. If you want to attend one near you, Oldham Council has put together a useful list, here:

Oldham remembers. Lest we forget.
