If you don’t know much about Healthwatch Oldham or why they hosted these awards, please read on. The following is taken from their website …

“Healthwatch Oldham wanted to find a way to thank and celebrate the health and social care work delivered across the Oldham Borough. We asked Oldham residents to nominate individuals and organisations who they feel have provided them with excellent service, gone above the call of duty and deserve recognition.”

Our Managing Director Karl Dean wanted to say a few words in reflection too:

“We're delighted that the dedication and great work of our staff has been recognised by Healthwatch Oldham. A big thank you to all the people who nominated us. We were particularly pleased to be named winners of the 'Service Provider' award, which is testament to our progress in recent years and the extraordinary efforts made during the pandemic.

Obviously we're dependent on everyone doing their bit so we'd like to say a big thanks to our stakeholders...

Firstly, to those using our services! We’ve been so grateful for your support this year as we’ve had to change the way we support you. Thank you for your kind words, feedback and togetherness. And also, for your patience. We know things are different in a lot of respects and we’ll keep working and talking with you, making sure we continue to deliver our best care going forward.

Secondly, MioCare is nothing without its incredible workforce. There are some amazing people in the organisation working so hard – Nazmi and Julie being two brilliant examples (well done you two!). Not only have you all shown real resilience and character but you’ve shown amazing skill and flexibility too. Thank you.”

Finally, to our partners who throughout the pandemic have been even more valuable to us than ever. None of Oldham’s health and social care services work in isolation, and we’re lucky to be well connected to and assisted by some amazing people and organisations.”

Thank you again Healthwatch Oldham and congratulations to all the other nominees and winners across town too!

Let’s stay safe and keep looking after each other.
