We’re edging towards December which means Christmas is pretty much round the corner. Time flies when you’re having fun and we had plenty this week at the annual Grassroots Christmas Fair…
It was great to get together and welcome not only the Wellbeing Service regulars but some family and friends too as we kicked off the season’s festivities with mince pies, music and mulled wine. Non-alcoholic of course…it was only lunchtime!
DJ Mark got the party started by picking the music, Kelly was showing off the artwork and handmade gifts she’d made with support from our staff and Maria was in fine spirits as always - getting the gang together for a group photo to mark the occasion.
Here’s to a joyous, merry month. We’ve started as we mean to go on in the Wellbeing Service.
Our Wellbeing Service provides an alternative to traditional day care for people with a learning disability.
The focus is on providing people with opportunities to maintain and develop skills and gain the confidence needed to get the most out of life and be as independent as possible.
This is achieved by offering a range of indoor and outdoor activities in a safe, stimulating and welcoming environment.
- planting and growing organic vegetables
- learning basic cooking skills
- learning basic gardening skills
- flower arranging
- woodwork sessions
People are encouraged to take control, make choices and pursue activities that they are interested in. All activities are risk assessed and supported by experienced and trained staff.
If you’re a social worker or family member of someone you think would benefit from the service, or if you would simply like to know more then please get in touch. Email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 0161 770 8777.
