Last week was Shared Lives Week and here at Shared Lives Oldham we celebrated with a fantastic Carers Awards Ceremony, recognising our brilliant carers who take part in the scheme.
There were smiles, lots of laughter and dancing aplenty as carers were joined by service users, their friends and family and staff too. It was also wonderful to see Emma Clarke from Shared Lives Plus who came to enjoy the festivities. Thank you Emma! Emma was one of 180+ people who came along on the night, making it a fab (and busy!) evening all round. We hope you enjoy the pictures we’ve attached.
A couple of highlights included awards for newly approved carers, as well as those who’ve been with us for 25+ years. Worth celebrating, we’re sure you’ll agree. We honoured carers who gave so much of their life, but who sadly are no longer with us. A poignant moment particularly for their family who were in attendance to celebrate all the scheme offers too.
We’ve had and have some truly skilled, kind and dedicated people here who deserve so much more than just a nod and a thank you. We know they are joined by many Shared Lives carers across the UK. What an amazing family to be part of locally and nationally.
Shared Lives Week might be done for another year but the good work continues. And we’re very happy and proud to be part of it. Sending love from Oldham!
