Fida is a former Mayor of Oldham and has previously held a number of positions within the Council since being elected as a Ward Councillor for Werneth in 2002. Prior to being appointed as Chair of the MioCare Group in May 2018, Fida was the Cabinet Member for Environmental Services including chairing the Licencing Committee. Fida brings a wealth of experience to the role from his professional life as an Electrical Engineer and running transport and retail businesses.
Peter White - Deputy Chair of the Board and Chair of Operations Committee
Peter was previously a senior police officer with Lancashire Constabulary. During his policing career Peter was responsible for uniform policing in many different areas of the county as well as later gaining experience in senior roles relating to operational delivery, change management and People services. On retirement in 2013 Peter became a non-executive director with Riverside Care and Support and is now a board member of the Riverside Group as well as Chair of their Neighbourhood Services Committee. He is also Vice Chair of the board at the North West Ambulance Service and Chair of the Performance Committee. Peter brings a wealth of experience from policing, housing, health and social care sectors with particular focus on performance management and governance.

Cllr Marie Bashforth
A Royton South Labour Councillor since 2013, Marie is an effective, trusted and valued Ward Councillor balancing the interests of Royton South residents and the Labour Group. Marie participates in Royton District Executive meetings and was Chair of the District Executive from 2014 to 2015. A member of the Royton Community Chest Fund and the Royton Sick and Needy Committee, Marie is also involved with the new Royton Branch of the Royal British Legion. In May 2018 Marie took up the role of Deputy Cabinet member for Health and Social Care.
Derek is a Liberal Democrat Councillor, first elected in May 1995 and re-elected to represent the party continuously up to the present day. Derek spent time as Mayor of Oldham Council and has participated in a number of partnerships across the borough of Oldham, including GM Fire and Rescue Authority (Chairman of Audit from 2009 – 2010, Member from 2002 – 2017), Pennine Care Joint Overview and Scrutiny (Chairman until May 2015, Deputy since May 2015) and Pennine Acute Joint Overview and Scrutiny (Member since May 2018). Experience in those partnerships will be of great value to the MioCare Group, as we begin to work with others as part of the Oldham Cares Alliance.
Dr Zahid Chauhan is a respected GP, health and social care campaigner, committed local Labour Party councillor (Alexandra Ward) and champion of social justice and charity. Routinely reaching out to his local community, Zahid encourages people to take greater ownership of their health and wellbeing. His experience has been greatly appreciated not only by the MioCare Group (for which he was Chair until 2018) but also by BARDOC (an out-of-hours emergency service) where he serves as a non-executive director. Zahid is also is also involved in training medical students within the community at the Manchester Medical School (University of Manchester). In May 2018, Zahid took up the role of Cabinet Member for the newly formed portfolio of Health and Social Care.
Jeff Jones - Chair of Finance, Audit and Risk Committee
A business leader with a strong financial background, Jeff brings well-rounded experience across a variety of sectors to the MioCare Group Board. Jeff has a commitment to values-focused leadership that inspires people to achieve long-term, transformational change and sustainable financial results. Working for and serving as an executive board member for BDO LLP until 2015, Jeff has since been working as a consultant for Begbies Traynor PLC and has involved himself in several entrepreneurial projects, including the co-founding of GAS Music Group based at MediaCityUK in Salford.
After holding numerous HR roles for both Greater Manchester Police and the British Transport Police, Cathy was the Assistant Director of People for Oldham Council from 2012-2018. Cathy has delivered workforce strategy and planning aspects of HR and has contributed to transformational change across the Council, as well as with partners including the integration of health and social care at Greater Manchester (GM) and borough levels. Cathy will bring a huge amount of HR experience, a vast knowledge of the borough and vital expertise in partnership working and complex multi-sector management.
Karl has been the Managing Director of the MioCare Group since 2015 having worked in the housing, care and support sector for the entirety of his career where he held a number of senior leadership positions including Managing Director of Arena Options and Director of Supported Housing at Your Housing Group. Karl has a degree in Disability Studies and a master’s degree in Management Development. He is a Board Member of Staffordshire Housing Group and a Magistrate. Karl brings extensive experience and skills to the organisation along with social business know-how. He is committed to playing a key role in ensuring that health and social care integration delivers significant improvements in the health and wellbeing for the people of Oldham.
